Celebrating Matariki!

On Wednesday 2nd July we had our end of term Celebration Day and we were in for a treat! Miss Cask had organised Tracey Wheeler and her 2 daughters to visit each class and orally tell us the story of Matariki. We were lucky enough to be sharing this treat with our buddy class Rm G.

After Tracey and her daughters had shared the story of Matariki with us they then showed us how to make nga whetu (stars) out of harakeke (flax). Room I, as the big buddies, were supposed to be able to help our Rm G smaller buddies but sometimes they helped us! Tracey's 2 daughters Francie and Jaime also were great at helping anyone who was a bit stuck.
