As part of our homework this week we had to suggest things we could do or learn to celebrate our Maori language. Here are some of our ideas...
Taylah- A karakia before morning tea or lunch, play with poi, sing waiata,write our mihi, make rakau sticks, visit a marae.
Karakia:
whakapainga enei kai
He orana mo te tinana
Mo matou wairua hoki
Amene
Jack- write our mihi
Ben- Maori Marco Polo
Jai- Teach our class a karakia
Sam- Myths and legends (gave a copy to Mrs Palmer), naming sea creatures
Samuel- Learn our mihi
